Cafe Assistant
The cafe assistant extends GMC’s mission to inspire visitors to enrich their lives through the go-go culture by providing exceptional customer service to all cafe patrons. Volunteers work side by side with museum staff to assist patrons as they make selections, keep the cafe well stocked, ensure that food and beverage items are attractively displayed, and operate a user-friendly payment system.
Location: 1920 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020
Report To: Go-Go Museum & Cafe Leadership Team; Venue Operations Manager or House Manager
Time Commitment: The museum will be open 1-2 weekends out of the month, Saturday or Sunday, in 6-8-hour shifts (based on operating hours) for at least three months.
Qualifications: High School Diploma; Pleasant and professional manner, dependability, and customer service experience. Some knowledge of the hospitality and food service industries is a plus.
Support: An orientation and training sessions will be provided. In addition, the Go-Go Museum & Cafe’s leadership staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance.
Age Requirement: 18 or Older
Attire: Go-Go Museum & Cafe shirt w/ Black, Denim, or Khaki bottoms; No rips or tears
Key Responsibilities:

Provide customer service to cafe patrons.

Assist Chef Angela Rose with the setup and breakdown of hospitality stations for special events.

Continue to monitor hospitality stations for replenishing and cleaning purposes.
