Production Assistant
The production assistant extends the museum’s goal to inspire visitors to enrich their lives through the go-go culture by fulfilling specific roles and responsibilities directly related to the mission and production needs. Volunteers work side by side with the museum’s production staff to ensure all performances and private events operate at the highest level.
Location: 1920 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020
Report To: Go-Go Museum & Cafe Leadership Team; Venue Operations Manager or House Manager
Time Commitment: The museum will be open 1-2 weekends out of the month, Saturday or Sunday, in 6-8-hour shifts (based on operating hours) for at least three months.
Qualifications: High School Diploma; Pleasant and professional manner; dependability; and customer service experience. Some knowledge of Go-Go music and culture is a plus.
Support: An orientation and training sessions will be provided. In addition, the Go-Go Museum & Cafe’s leadership staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance.
Age Requirement: 18 or Older
Attire: Go-Go Museum & Cafe shirt with Black, Denim, or Khaki bottoms; No rips or tears
Key Responsibilities:

Assist GMC team with production needs for special events and private recording sessions, i.e.- artists, musicians, producers, and engineers.

Assist management with all needs related to the run of show for performances.

Act as a runner for all performing artists' needs.

Assist with the set up of hospitality stations and green rooms for all talent acts.

Assist with the strike of the event setups.
